An aluminum conservatory is a practical choice for durability and ease of construction. Aluminum extrusions have coatings that will withstand the weather and the conservatory will be water tight.

A conservatory can be built from easily available extrusions that act like building blocks. Once a suitable foundation is provided the perimeter of the conservatory can be laid out with aluminum C Channels. These are attached to the foundation with concrete screws. The Same C channels are also screwed into the existing house walls to define the locations of the conservatory walls. These channels are then caulked to the existing brick so that they are weather tight.

Window panels are made up consisting of glass, operating sashes, screens and a decorative kick plate which can then be placed, one by one, in the C channels and screwed in place. All of the walls of the conservatory can be installed this way. The quantity of panels is calculated by the factory based on the total perimeter to be enclosed. Provision is made for any sliding patio doors, or hinged storm doors that need to be installed for entry or exit.

The individual panels are screwed together with aluminum H channels between every pair of fabricated panels. The advantage of using the panels is the conservatory is installed and ready for use use very quickly.

Once all the perimeter walls are installed, the roofing can be installed. There are many good types of aluminum roofing that can be used with aluminum framed conservatories.
